Network Options
There are two network options where Swift APIs can be accessed from, the Internet and the multi-vendor secure IP network (MV-SIPN)The Swift architecture based on a network model that uses state-of-the-art security (secure IP network). The multi-vendor secure IP network also improves resilience and capacity, while avoiding dependency on a single network supplier.. Swift provides two options to facilitate seamless consumption of APIs based on data sensitivity and how the data may be used. Depending on the API, it may be accessible in one or both network options. Refer to the API Guide for details pertaining to the API of your interests.

Access to API services exposed through MV-SIPN
MV-SIPN is the highly secure global network of Swift. It is used to provide Swift services, including API based services to the community. Customers can re-use their existing Swift security and connectivity footprints such as Alliance Gateway, Remote API connectivity to Alliance Gateway, SwiftNet Link, HSM, the Swift WebPlatform HTTP Proxy, and Swift VPN boxes to access API services available through MV-SIPN directly or indirectly through a third party. API services exposed through MV-SIPN include content that is transactional or business critical, thus requiring a higher level of assurance for authentication and authorisation, and secure transport of data over a private network.
